Enviro Range

The Jangro Group is the UK's largest independent network of janitorial supply companies and is proud to launch a range of cleaning and hygiene products that have been specially formulated to have a low impact on the environment.

All Jangro and Enviro products comply with the current EU regulations on biodegradability and protection for the environment. However, the Enviro range of products have been specially selected for their minimal environmental impact as determined by WEIR (Wright Environmental Impact Rating).

WEIR provides a consistent method of measuring the environmental impact of cleaning products. All products in the Enviro range are classed as a Low Environmental Impact Rated Product according to WEIR.

The Jangro Group recognises that day to day cleaning operations, and the products used in those operations, impact on the environment. It is the policy of all companies within the Jangro Group to minimise any environmental effects of those activities.

The WEIR Scheme Explained

The Enviro cleaning products have each been formulated to ensure any impact is kept to an absolute minimum, and have been designed to comply with all current EU regulations concerning biodegradability and the preservation of the environment.

There are various schemes used in Europe to determine environmental impact but none takes account of all the relevant factors.  For this reason a unique scheme has been devised assessing the overall environmental impact of a product taking into account the formulation, manufacture, use and diposal of product. This scheme is called the Wright Environmental Impact Rating (WEIR).

The impact rating is determined using the following 7 criteria:

1. The raw materials used.
2. Risk of release to the environment.
3. Environmental hazard classification.
4. Water usage in the product.
5. Impact of product usage.
6. pH - acidity or alkalinity.
7. Impact of energy used to prepare & manufacture the product.

Each product is measured according to these criteria to produce a rating. The lower the overall rating, the lower the impact it has on the environment.
